Position Description
As a Financial Controller, your role will consist of the overall controllership of our client’s region. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for the statutory accounts for the different entities of the company, and expected to manage the preparation of their budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis. This position works very closely with regional in-country and shared service centre finance teams. The Financial Controller will manage one Analyst, while reporting to the VP of Finance – Reporting & Control.
Other responsibilities include:
• Leads process improvements and drives accuracy of reporting across the regional finance team
• Leverages existing business assets and infrastructure by engaging with the right people and building collaborative networks
• Give Strategic and commercially focused accounting advice in terms of shaping the company’s structure and business rules that support the operating structure.
• Lead the push for greater integrity of the region statutory accounts, which is Achieved by driving improvements and accuracy of posting to the recharge model with the accounting teams
• Proactively manage and analyze regional costs to drive efficiencies where possible
• Provision of insightful management information on costs
• Manage analyst to ensure that improvements in the accuracy of cost centre reporting within the company are achieved
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statutory and management accounts for the region and their branches
• Directly responsible for setting up and maintaining accounting and cost control monitoring systems for the region based shared and support service cost centres
• Manage process with team to improve ability to mine data/ ERP/IT knowledge and pull data from the various sources to improve analysis and contribute towards decision making
• Responsible for establishing and formalizing reporting processes and integrity checks
• Partner with business functions and provide financial leadership to optimize profitability and performance through unbiased financial analysis of key initiatives and strategic objectives
• Provision of commercially focused accounting advice
• Directly accountable for the three and five year strategic plan and annual budget process for the region plus providing support to the regional wide process
• Work as part of the wider finance team to ensure that identified goals are achieved and there is continual improvement in the planning process to enable the business to proactively identify and surface financial issues and opportunities
• Manage analyst to develop cost centre reporting and understanding of cost base
• Prepare ad hoc analysis and work on special projects
Experience/Skills Required
• Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification
• At least 3 years financial controller experience, preferably within the Telecoms industry
• Ideally qualified chartered accountant or chartered management accountant
• Experience in Large multi-national organization is essential

Compensation
